Alumni associations benefit both institutions and their graduates. For the institution, they provide a valuable resource for engagement, fundraising, and outreach. For alumni, they offer a way to stay connected to their alma mater, network with fellow graduates, and contribute to the institution’s success.
On July 26th 2025, we celebrated a significant milestone in the journey of the University of Seychelles with the official launch of the UniSey Alumni Association during this year’s Unisey Gala. Leading up to this event, a steering committee was set up and dedicated extensive effort to lay the foundation for the association and organised a logo competition.
Throughout this process, many of the prospective members of the Executive Committee showed exceptional commitment. Despite busy schedules as full-time employees across various organisations, we united to support the establishment of Unisey’s Alumni Executive Committee. During the Gala, the winner of the Alumni Association logo contest received her prize, which was none other than one of our own, Vanessa Lucas.
Today, we proudly present a dynamic team of eight young men and women, all graduates of the University of Seychelles, who will serve on the executive committee, from the Chairperson down to the ordinary members:

It’s important to recognise that throughout its 16 years of existence, Unisey has had individuals whose efforts have been acknowledged for bringing alumni together and forming a committee, even though it was not formalised or nationally recognised until now.
Now that we are officially operational, we encourage all alumni to join our growing family. Together, we can make our mark nationally, in the Indian Ocean region and beyond, with aspirations of reaching a global audience.
The UniSey Alumni Association has many exciting plans in place, and we hope to receive strong support from fellow alumni and sponsors to help turn our vision into reality.
